Hi! I'm new here.

My name is Alba. I'm Basque, which means I'm "one in a million" (almost literally).
I live in China right now, which is a country I adore, but I've been living in many other countries before: Hungary, Bulgaria, Ireland and different locations all around Spain.

I love travelling as well as writing and taking photos of all I do while abroad. I'm mostly a backpacker and I usually go everywhere on a low budget. I love it because I feel I make more friends in hostels and on the road than staying in fancy hotels and flying.
I have a taste for good wine and food, and good quality boots, cameras and sunglasses, though. I consider spending money in certain things just fair. I can also spend LOTS of money in artsy stuff, books, comics...

I try to volunteer and do some activism whenever I can. I'm always talking about politics and feminism but, unlike many other people, I actually take action to change realities I disagree with. I'm very respectful most of the time, though: I guess time taught me to express my feelings and ideals in a polite way.

I'm a languages teacher in a uni and I'm getting a PhD in literature and gender issues. I'm quite nerdy and wear thick-framed glasses at home and all. I'm terribly attracted to good chatters and intelligent people. Other stuff such as being able to open jars and reach the top shelves is a plus.
